Careers in Music and Audio Engineering for Calgary Vets

Young men coming out of their last tour in the services often are confronted with some serious decisions regarding their future careers and living quarters. Although, many positions in the service do teach some very valuable job skills, some of the specialized skills are unique to military life and unless the veteran is interested in working in private security forces will not be very likely to be able to be used again. But, with some lateral thinking you can quickly re-educate yourself and get some excellent positions

But for the recent massive influx of vets coming out into civilian life in the Calgary area, finding Calgary apartments for rent can be difficult. If you quickly get that issue solved you will find that the local Entertainment and Music Industry offers an excellent opportunity for your unique skillset.Your technological experience in the service actually opens up a very lucrative and very open job field as an Audio Engineer. Audio Engineers get to travel in some highly desirable areas such as the Florida Keys , the coast of Alaska and many of the Island destinations that one wants to visit to get away from the Calgary cold. The huge plus is that rather than pay for expensive cruise or private charter tickets one gets to Captain the dance floor and make between 60k and 100k a year.

Its a lucrative position and the job field is currently wide open. The technological skills and requirements to works as an Audio tech on a  Charter Boat are rather involved. But a former Seaman is in a great position to have the majority of the required experience and knowledge. Most still do take a training course in order to get their required Audio Engineering certificates .

Taking the AE test can be quite difficult if one is unprepared, as suggested, the background one receives in the Military really gives you a leg up on the other candidates but it is in no way a shoe in for having the full breadth of knowledge required. Often, very experienced Engineers take the course in order to acquire new skills that afford them further opportunities operating in different arenas of this Industry. Technology is changing quickly and being familiar with the latest software and hardware advances is a must to stay viable. 

When your really making a dance floor rock or mixing some rock stars latest hit you will really look back at your days manning the control boards on ship as being valuable experience!
